The
provision and use of work equipment regulations 1992 (PUWER) places
general duties on employers and lists minimum requirements for work
equipment to deal with selected hazards what ever the industry.
Work equipment broadly defines everything from a hand held tool
to machines of all kinds. One way of meeting this requirement is
to have in place a system of regular testing.

Here
at O P Services we use the latest computerized Portable Appliance
Testers that record all system parameters from a unique asset number
for the equipment to the full test results arising from the test.
This information is fed into an electronic database that is printed
onto hard copies for the client confirming that the requirements
were met.

This
process has significant advantages over the paper records and tick
sheet methods employed by many others where the only assurance available
is the tick in a box by a company operative. As in all areas of
our work our Technicians in this area hold the C&G 2377 In service
Inspection and Testing accreditation |
